Tribalism

I'm reading a fascinating book by the MP David Lammy, called Tribalism. It offers an explanation to the rifts that exist in today's society, stretching through politics and everyday life. It seems to be a hangup left through evolution, when we were hunter gathers in groups of 100 or so that would see outsiders as a threat. As we become
more isolated in modern society we attach ourselves to groups and tend to see the
world through a collective perspective and shun outside views.

Certainly a bias to be considered in a changing world.
